“It’s a brand new season, it’s a brand new day! A fresh anointing is flowing my way. It’s a season of power and prosperity. A brand new season is coming to me.”

When marketing executives use the terminology, “brand name” they are referring to a particular name of a product. In other words, this is not just a brand new season. But, this brand new season has a brand new name!

Whatever 2007 was to you, get over it, because it’s over!

Similar to football, when a season is over, it’s over! Last year’s touchdowns don’t win this season’s games. And last year’s fumbles don’t lose this season’s game.

If anything, the fumbles you made last year, ought to be learning experiences on how to hold on to the ball this season. That’s why you can’t get upset with your enemies. If anything, they taught you how to hold on, think smarter, and move quicker!

Some of us need to look around at our enemies and say, “you make me better!”

Many of you have been dismayed because your opponents (your enemies, your obstacles, your hurdles) may have seemingly defeated you or even sidelined you this season.

But, just like coaches review game footage to devise better strategies and plans for the next game, you ought to do a review of your game, called life 2007, and devise better strategies and plans for the next season to win and not be defeated!

You took some hits this season! But, don’t allow last season’s hits to keep you down this season! Review the footage and determine what you can do this season to prevent additional hits!

Life is like a game. You have to play it to win it! Just remember, every team has a coach. Sometimes, while listening to the coach, you will get hit. Even so, trust that a coach can see what a player cannot see.

Despite your hit, it’s still wise to trust the coach!

Remember, the enemy will always go overboard with his hits. That is why the Bible says he comes to steal, kill, and destroy! But, if you are still alive, that simply means, that his toughest hit, took you down, but it didn’t take you out!

That’s why it’s so important to get back up in front of your enemies!

Borrowing a few words from a Pastor friend of mine, “some of you went through hell, i.e. an intense fire. But just like the 3 Hebrew boys, if your going through the fire, i.e. getting hit, was a direct result of obeying God, also known as ”the coach,” understand, that when you come out, there will not be a trace that you were ever in.”

How can that be? Because it is hard for people to remember that you were ever down, when now that they see you, you are back up!

Just like a coach can see what a player can not see, God can see what we don’t see. Though following God can get us hit, rest assured, because you are covered by Him, you will always come out alright!

In other words, just like the Hebrew boys, the same people the enemy used to throw you into the fire, will be the same people who have to behold that what they tried to use to destroy you, couldn’t touch you!

Remember, when you are on the Lord’s side, God will always remind the enemy “you can’t touch this.”

If you are still alive and in your right mind, REJOICE! Whatever fire doesn’t destroy, it purifies!

I don’t know what you’ve been through in ‘07. All I know is that the Bible says to everything there is a season. In other words, seasons change. And, remember, when a season changes, so does its name.

This season may have been named heartbreak, death in the family, lack of finances, job loss, etc. But, if you can hold on, you will see that your next season has a brand new name!

If you are to win this season, you must forget about last seasons problems, and shout about the brand new season’s possibilities!

Be Blessed Abundantly,

It’s A Brand New Season!
